Which Forms Does RTPS Pro Support?
RTPS Pro works with all six Block / अंचल level certificate forms on the Bihar RTPS portal:

Note: BC/EBC applicants typically need both OBC-NCL (Form-VI) for central exams and NCL (Form-IX) for Bihar state exams. RTPS Pro handles both.
Key Features
Smart Auto-Fill — Including Cascading Dropdowns
RTPS Pro reads the labels of the open form and matches them to your saved profile — in Hindi or English. This includes the cascading dropdown chain (State → District → Sub-division → Block → Panchayat), which it waits for and fills in the correct sequence. The photo upload, captcha, and final declaration checkbox are never touched automatically; those stay with you to review.
Multiple Profiles with Search
Store one profile per family member or client. Basic details (name, address, caste) are shared across all form types within a profile. Form-specific data — income declarations, property details — is stored separately per certificate type. A search bar appears when the list grows long.
Live Fill Counter
The extension header shows a filled / mandatory pill — for example, 36/38 ★. Saffron means some mandatory fields are still empty; green means all mandatory fields are done. It also lists exactly which mandatory boxes are still unanswered so you know what to check before submitting.
Draft Recovery
While you type on the portal, the form is continuously saved locally in the background. If the portal session expires or you refresh the page by accident, a notification offers to restore your data instantly. Drafts are stored for seven days and cleared automatically after that.

Back up one profile or all profiles to a JSON file. Restore them after a browser data clear, or transfer them to another device.

How to Use RTPS Pro: Step-by-Step
Step 1 — Install the Extension (free)
Firefox (Android or PC) — recommended: install Firefox, open RTPS Pro on Firefox Add-ons → Add to Firefox → Add. Updates arrive automatically.

Quetta or Kiwi Browser (Android): download rtps-pro.zip → menu → Extensions → Developer mode → (from .zip/.crx/.user.js) → choose the zip. Get Quetta from the Play Store or Kiwi from GitHub (discontinued but still works).

Chrome / Edge on a computer: unzip the same file → chrome://extensions → Developer mode → Load unpacked.

Step 2 — Test with the Built-in Example Profiles First
Before entering any real applicant data, try auto-fill safely using the two sample profiles that come pre-installed:
- Sita Devi (OBC) — works with Caste, Income, Residence, OBC-NCL, and NCL forms.
- Rahul Sharma (EWS) — works with Income, Residence, and EWS forms.
- Open any supported RTPS certificate form on serviceonline.bihar.gov.in.
- Click the RTPS Pro extension icon. Select Sita Devi or Rahul Sharma from the profile list.
- Tap Auto-fill this form and watch the fields populate.
- These are sample details only — do not press Submit.

Step 3 — Save Your Own Profile
- Open any RTPS certificate form and fill it completely with the applicant's real details.
- Before pressing Submit — open RTPS Pro → tap New profile → type a name (the applicant's full name works well) → tap Save from this form.
- Go back to the portal and submit the application as usual.
⚠️ Save the profile before you press Submit. After submission, the portal resets the page and the extension can no longer read the data from it.

Step 4 — Auto-Fill the Next Application
- Open any of the six supported RTPS certificate forms on the portal.
- Open RTPS Pro → select the saved profile from the list → tap Auto-fill this form.
- The extension fills all text boxes, selects dropdown values in the correct sequence, and ticks radio buttons. Only the photo, captcha, and declaration checkbox remain for you.
- Review the filled form, attach the photo, complete the captcha, and Submit.

The steps above are enough to get going. This section walks through every button, message and screen in RTPS Pro so nothing surprises you. All images are real extension screens rendered with example data.
1. Home screen — no RTPS form open
Tap the RTPS Pro icon anywhere and the status card reads “No RTPS form open” with an Open RTPS website button. It opens only the portal homepage — never a direct form link, because those links change often. On first run a “Pakka Tip” card explains which forms the bundled Sita Devi and Rahul Sharma example profiles cover.

2. Form detected — what the counter means
As soon as an application form is open the status card turns green: form name (e.g. निवास प्रमाण-पत्र · Residence), level (Block/RO), and a counter such as “24 filled • 21 required • 3 optional”. Required = the portal's * boxes. When every required box is filled you get a green ★ ready badge; otherwise the missing required boxes are listed right there, so you know what is left before pressing Submit. It is information only — RTPS Pro never presses Submit.

3. Choosing a profile — search and form badges
Tap the profile card to open the list. Under each name you see district/block and small badges (e.g. ✓ निवास 29) showing which forms are saved in that profile and with how many boxes. With more than five profiles a search box appears — search by name, district or block. CSC operators live here.

4. Auto-fill and the “Pakka Tip” — when this form is not saved yet
Say you saved Saurabh's Residence profile and now open the Income form. RTPS Pro says “this form isn't saved in this profile yet” — but Auto-fill still works: it borrows the basic details (name, address, Aadhaar, mobile…) from the Residence profile. You fill the income-specific boxes yourself and press Update once; next time the Income form fills 100%. Form-specific data (income amount, source…) is stored per form; basic details are shared.

5. New profile and “name already exists”
Tap + New profile → type the person's name → Save from this form. If that name already exists, RTPS Pro stops and offers suggestions such as “Saurabh Kumar (Hilsa)” or “Saurabh Kumar 2” — or lets you update the existing profile instead. No more two profiles with the same name.

6. Identity guard — protection against saving into the wrong profile
The most common mistake: Saurabh is selected, but the page contains Mohan's form, and you tap “Update” — Saurabh's data would be overwritten. Before every update RTPS Pro compares the applicant name on the page with the profile name. If they differ, a sheet asks “Different person?” with three choices: (1) save into the profile that matches the page (suggested), (2) save under a new name, (3) Save into the selected profile anyway — this needs two taps (“Tap again to confirm”) so it cannot happen by accident. If the name cannot be read at all you still get a warning.

7. Draft auto-save — survive session expiry
While you type, RTPS Pro saves a draft of the form on your device every few seconds. If the portal session expires, the page refreshes or the tab closes, the next time that form opens a toast appears: “Unsaved draft found (4 min ago, 18 fields)” → Restore or Discard. Drafts expire automatically after 7 days. You can switch this off in Settings.

8. Backup — Export / Import and the reminder
Profiles live only in your browser — clearing browser data or changing phones loses them. Press Export to download a JSON file (one profile or all) and keep it in Downloads / Drive. On another phone use Import; if a profile with the same name exists it asks whether to replace or keep both. If you have saved several times but never exported, a yellow Backup reminder card appears — “Export now” or “Later”.

9. The small buttons — Export, Import, Edit, Delete, Clear form, Restore examples
- Edit data — opens the Profile editor on the settings page (below).
- Delete profile — removes the selected profile (asks for confirmation).
- Clear form — empties every box on the page (the profile is untouched) — handy before filling the form for a different person.
- Restore examples — brings back Sita Devi / Rahul Sharma if you deleted them.
- The form chips at the bottom (जाति · आय · निवास · OBC · NCL · EWS) only indicate which form is currently open on the portal — tapping them does not open anything.

10. Language and dark mode
EN | हिं at the top right switches the whole extension (popup, settings page, on-page toasts) in one tap. If your phone is in dark mode, RTPS Pro follows automatically — there is no separate setting.

11. Settings page (⚙️) — four tabs
Settings: language, draft auto-save on/off, green highlight of filled boxes on/off, wait time for dependent dropdowns (District → Block; increase on slow networks), and the desktop keyboard shortcuts — Alt+Shift+F = Auto-fill, Alt+Shift+S = Save.
Profile editor: pick any profile and any of its forms, edit every box value directly, Rename / Duplicate / Delete, + Add field (e.g. if the portal adds a new box), and an “Advanced” view showing field types. This is where you pre-type a full profile without opening the portal.
Backup: export all profiles, import, and Wipe all data (before handing over a shop phone).

12. Right-click menu on desktop
On Chrome/Edge/Firefox desktop, right-click anywhere on an RTPS page: the menu offers ⚡ RTPS Pro: Auto-fill with last profile and 💾 RTPS Pro: Save form to last profile, so you can fill or save with the last-used profile without opening the popup. (Mobile browsers have no context menu — use the popup there.)
Remember: RTPS Pro never presses Submit, never fills the photo/captcha/OTP, and never sends data anywhere — everything stays on your phone or computer.

Is RTPS Pro free?
Yes. No subscription, no account, no payment required. Install and use immediately.
Is my personal data safe?
All data is stored locally in your browser. Nothing is sent to any external server. The extension only has permission to run on serviceonline.bihar.gov.in — it cannot read any other website.
Does it press Submit automatically?
No. RTPS Pro only fills in form fields. You review the result, attach your photo, complete the captcha, and press Submit yourself. The declaration checkbox is also never touched automatically.
Does it work on Android phones?
Yes. The easiest way is Firefox for Android — one tap from the Firefox Add-ons page. Quetta and Kiwi Browser also work using the zip file. Android Chrome does not support extensions.
What is the difference between OBC-NCL (Form-VI) and NCL (Form-IX)?
OBC-NCL (Form-VI) is for central government jobs and central exams — UPSC, SSC, Railways, and central universities. NCL (Form-IX) is for Bihar state government jobs — BPSC and state-level exams. BC/EBC applicants typically need both. RTPS Pro handles both forms.
Can I store profiles for multiple family members?
Yes. Create one named profile per person. You can search the profile list, duplicate a profile, rename it, edit individual fields, and export it independently. There is no cap on the number of profiles you can store.
What happens if the portal layout changes?
RTPS Pro matches fields by their text labels in Hindi and English, not by fixed position on the page. This makes it more resilient to minor portal layout changes than tools that depend on field order or fixed positions.
Why does Chrome say "Your connection is not private" on the RTPS site?
The portal's certificate chain is sometimes not trusted by Chrome on Android (NET::ERR_CERT_AUTHORITY_INVALID). Firefox opens the same site without the warning, which is one more reason we recommend Firefox for RTPS work.
What is the "Service worker (Inactive)" message I see?
This is normal for Manifest V3 extensions. The browser sleeps the background worker when idle and wakes it the moment you click the extension icon. It does not affect how the extension works.
